I consulted web md to see if I have thrush but do not have the symptoms. My lips feel swelled on the interior and slightly burn. I have not used a new toothpaste or had different foods. I have however, last week been in Texas and had spicy seafood. But I have had it many times before. I wear guards as I had braces several years ago and the bottom guard hurts the gums. this is not the reason for the swollen inner lips. Can you help I will be more then happy to pay the fee if you know what the answer is.
Swelling, burning and tingling of inner lip can be due to any sort of allergic reaction to any food or medication if you take, while it can also be due to causes like dry mouth, lip biting habit, injury with your mouth guard or brace wires etc.. There can also be iron or vitamin B 12 deficiency.. If there are no other symptoms that can be suggestive of thrush like white patches then it does not need to be thrush.. But for a confirmation I would need images of the inner side of your lip for better diagnosis.. You can upload the same to me so that I can ask you further questions and advise you appropriate treatment.. As of now you can apply Lidocaine or choline salicylate gel over the inner lip, do cool compresses and take soft diet.. Avoid spicy food.. Take Vitamin B complex and lysine supplements daily and eat more of yogurt..
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
